Cross machine profiling is an important method to ensure final product quality. It is a requirement to achieve a perfect and optimal die adjustment therefore minimizing the risk for scrap production.

PCDS offers different types of profile measurement systems depending on the type of application. For flat-film and sheet extrusion we recommend either laser or capacitive measurement subsystems. Those subsystems are mounted on a scanner frame and travel cross the web.  

For blow-film application we recommend the capacitive measurement subsystems. On extrusion lines with rotating/reversing blow-heads or platforms the subsystem can be mounted in the collapsing frame because this is a very economic solution. Alternatively the subsystem can be mounted on a reversing scanner to acquire profile data directly on the bubble.
